Best Time to Explore Villages and Hike in Cinque Terre
The best time to visit Cinque Terre is from late March to late October. August is the peak season in Cinque Terre, especially the week that includes the 15th, which is the most expensive of the year. Additionally, tourists also come in December for the Christmas holidays. Swimming in the sea is typically possible from late May to early October. As for hiking, it depends on the status of the trails; in winter, they are often closed after autumn rains.

Visiting Cinque Terre in March
Lower prices, fewer tourists, and improving weather. By the end of the month, the tourist season officially begins in Cinque Terre.
There are often showers, pedestrian trails may be closed for maintenance, boats aren't operational yet, and it can still be a bit chilly.
From the last week of March until the end of October, boats start operating in Cinque Terre, and the number of trains between the villages increases (by 2-3 times), which can lead to higher ticket prices. For more details, read the pages on our website.
Visiting Cinque Terre during Easter is not the best idea, as there are a lot of tourists during this period.
